Your NEC Path Forward — Clearly Laid Out
To NEC customers and reseller partners,
If you’re currently running an NEC system, you’ve probably encountered a flood of opinions — and not nearly enough straightforward guidance.
This message is intended to bring clarity. Below, we outline how E-MetroTel supports real-world NEC environments today, and how organizations are moving forward thoughtfully — without unnecessary pressure or disruption.
No mandatory replacements. No rushed timelines.
Let’s address the most important question first: there is no obligation to replace your phones, remove existing systems, or accelerate change before you’re ready.
Our platform was built to reflect how NEC environments actually operate — often combining digital handsets, IP phones, analog devices, and real operational constraints.
The priority is simple: maintain continuity first, modernize when it makes sense, and minimize disruption throughout.
Built for phased and hybrid deployments
Most NEC customers are not planning a single “cutover day.” Flexibility is key — and that flexibility is exactly what E-MetroTel delivers.
- Continue using existing NEC phones
- Deploy on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid model
- Transition users, locations, or features incrementally
- Match technical changes to business priorities — not vendor timelines
This phased approach keeps customers in control while allowing modernization to happen naturally.
On-prem is still very much supported
A common assumption is that E-MetroTel is cloud-only. That is not the case.
We provide on-prem Galaxy appliances, hardware, and endpoints for organizations that require local control, regulatory compliance, or simply prefer on-site systems. Cloud, on-prem, or blended deployments are all fully supported.
One extension — across NEC phones and Microsoft Teams
For organizations using Microsoft Teams, E-MetroTel enables a single extension shared between NEC desk phones and Teams.
Users can move seamlessly between their desk phone and Teams without juggling multiple numbers or managing parallel systems — enabling modern collaboration while preserving existing investments.
Details matter — and they’re supported
The platform supports NEC Custom SIP configurations as well as analog devices including fax, paging systems, and specialized equipment.
Mixed environments aren’t edge cases — they’re expected, supported, and designed to evolve over time.
Designed as a long-term solution
This is not a temporary bridge. E-MetroTel’s platform is engineered to serve as a stable, long-term foundation that adapts as organizational needs change.
If there’s one key takeaway, it’s this: you likely have far more flexibility and control than you’ve been led to believe.
Next week, our sales team will share real-world examples of how customers are applying this approach — along with guidance on how to evaluate the best path for your specific environment.
Best regards,
